Tip 1: Prevent Exposure to Direct Sunlight
Electric vehicles are strictly prohibited from being exposed to direct sunlight. An environment with excessively high temperatures will increase the internal pressure of the battery, forcing the battery's pressure relief valve to open automatically. The direct consequence is an increase in the battery's water loss. Excessive water loss of the battery will inevitably lead to a decrease in battery activity, accelerate the softening of the electrode plates, and cause fatal damages such as heat generation, swelling, and deformation of the battery case during charging. Tip2: Avoid Unplugging Hot Plugs During Charging
Phenomena such as looseness of the charger's output plug and oxidation of the contact surface will cause the charging plug to heat up. Prolonged heating will lead to a short circuit of the charging plug, directly damaging the charger and resulting in unnecessary losses. Therefore, when the above situations are found, the oxides should be removed in a timely manner or the connectors should be replaced. Tip 3: Recharge Frequently and Timely
Consumers often have a misunderstanding about the cycle life specified in the user manual. They think that the battery's life will be reduced by one cycle each time it is charged, so they only start recharging when the battery's power is depleted to the controller's protection voltage of 31.5V. However, this approach not only fails to protect the battery but also shortens its service life. The reason is that the positive active material PbO₂ (lead dioxide) itself has weak mutual bonding, and there is a large difference in molar volume between PbO₂ and PbSO₄ (lead sulfate). The shallower the depth of discharge, the lower the degree of contraction and expansion of the active material. Tip 4: Forbid Forced Discharging When Power is Exhausted
During riding, as the battery power is consumed, the battery power indicator lights go out one by one. When all lights are off, it indicates that the power is exhausted. At this point, turn off the power immediately and switch to pedal-assisted riding. Forced discharging is strictly prohibited. If the battery is frequently used until it is undercharged, it will be severely damaged. Even if it is within the warranty period, the company will not provide free warranty service. Battery damage caused by this reason is not covered by the warranty.
